 There are many awareness days in October, and one of them is focused on learning disabilities. 

 What causes a learning disability is a topic that Living With Disabilities wishes to discuss.

  In the Hidden, Disabilities Are Real article, people with invisible disabilities have to be more vocal about their disabilities because their disability is not physical. And here is where Living With Disabilities will voice what causes a learning disability.

 First, let's clear away any myths and back them up with facts.

 1. People with Learning disabilities have a low IQ.

 Facts: People with learning disabilities have average or above-average intelligence. Learning disabilities are not caused by low IQ levels.

 2. People with Learning disabilities are lazy.

  Facts: People with learning disabilities work harder than people without learning disabilities. 

3. People with learning disabilities can outgrow their learning disabilities.
 
Facts: A learning disability is a neurological condition of the brain structure. 

4. People with learning disabilities can't be successful.

Facts: They can be successful. If you look at many actors and actresses in Hollywood, you will see Octavia Spencer, Orlando Bloom, and Keanu Reeves, just to name a few. are successful in their careers despite their learning disabilities.
 

 Now that myths have been followed up with facts, let's dive deeper into what's the main cause of a learning disability.

Some people may develop a learning disability later in life due to an injury. The possible causes of a learning disability come from traumatic brain injury or dementia. Then some come from genetics. Poor growth of the uterus due to alcohol or drugs before birth. Environmental exposure, being exposed to high levels of lead or toxins can cause a learning disability. and learning disabilities are not contiguous.
