Welcome to the Living With Disabilities Advocacy website. First and foremost. Self-published author Katrina Smith, a person of many accomplishments, has written six volumes in total: two cookbooks and four collections of poetry. Her favorite activities include reading and writing. Katrina would be described by one word: determined. Despite any challenges she may encounter, she does not let unkind comments decide her fate.

If you're a new visitor to this advocacy website, this page's goal is to increase public understanding of those who live with disabilities and other conditions. We suggest that anything you read on this site you seek out a licensed professional counselor or healthcare provider.

This week, Living With Disabilities will talk about overcoming barriers.

Knock Knock Who is there? Since someone who manages their disability does their best to pursue their goals like any other person, this isn't a knock-knock joke. So what does it take to accomplish these goals? Since everyone has various goals and different ways of achieving them, it's up to them whether they choose to believe us or not.

This is why people with disabilities work so hard to advocate for others to understand them. and hope that others will learn to understand each person's situation. and be there when help is needed.

What kinds of obstacles can individuals with disabilities overcome? The factor is they can overcome them without question or doubt. Like any other person. Even though it make take longer than some, they can and will get the job done.

We're here to discuss some of the host's challenges and how she overcame them. Whether or not your beliefs differ from hers, we do ask that you accept her beliefs.

This is where it all began. She was disabled as a result of a three-car crash when she was nine months old. The medical professionals predicted that she would not survive. But for her, God had many bigger and better plans. She recovered from being in a coma twice. It was through having faith in God and not just only believing in God, Her mother also played a part in her story. So, if it wasn't for her mother having faith and constant prayers, she wouldn't even be here today!

Even if the host has endured numerous additional difficulties, we'll focus on just one of them because it's important to share it with others to support those who may be through a similar situation. Sometimes all it takes is for one person's struggle to be overcome by another's story.

Managing her accommodations during her first year of college while being sent back and forth by her professor. for students with disabilities to take their test in the classroom among regular students, similar to a merry-go-round to the testing center Considering the other challenges she had to deal with, it was incredibly frustrating. Yet, she passed that course with a passing grade. She left that class even though she didn't receive an A.

She had already confronted and overcome another challenge.

Every person's life is filled with several obstacles that are put in place for specific purposes. But it requires time, and with patience, you'll start to figure out how to go over it. Sometimes getting there will take more time. But in the end, those obstacles don't even exist.
