 Welcome to the Living With Disabilities Advocacy website. First and foremost. Self-published author Katrina Smith, a person of many accomplishments, has written six volumes in total: two cookbooks and four collections of poetry. Her favorite activities include reading and writing. Katrina would be described by one word: determined. Despite any challenges she may encounter, she does not let unkind comments decide her fate.

    If you're a new visitor to this advocacy website, this page's goal is to increase public understanding of those who live with disabilities and other conditions. We suggest that anything you read on this site you seek out a licensed professional counselor or healthcare provider. 

   This week, Living With Disabilities will touch on People who had achieved their goals despite their disabilities or conditions.

 When we say achieve, we mean that these people went out and shown their abilities, and now they are living their professions as a result of their self-confidence.

We're going to offer a few celebrity-related tales right now.
Who can claim to have seen Extreme Makeover? The most memorable phrase is "Move that bus." Ty Pennington, the host, has ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder). He is a designer, and in addition to being a designer, he also operates Art Design Home Decor, a store in Los Angeles. The name was therefore formed from ADHD. Pennington also has a decor magazine that has his name. Alongside decorating business, he is a spokesperson for Aspirin and ADHD medication.

 Samuel L. Jackson has appeared in a number of films, including Jurassic Park and Lakeview Terrace. Samuel L. Jackson experienced severe bullying as a child due to his stuttering, which stopped him from speaking in class for over a year until he discovered what helped him stop stuttering: cursing. This clarifies why he employs profanity in his movie.

 We'll talk about Octavia Spencer, another performer, who played Minny Jackson in The Help, last. She has been in numerous films and TV shows. Even at the tender age of six, she was aware of her difficulties with reading. She would begin to read, but the words would jumble. Despite the fact that she had reading difficulties, her teacher found a method to support her. Specifically, through gifting Octavia Spencer mystery novels. Reading her lines got difficult; she would have to read line after line to understand what was being said. Octavia is a writer of children's books in addition to being an actress. She was able to start writing thanks to the assistance of her teacher.

 We have talked based on famous people with hidden disabilities. What do Ty Pennington, Octavia Spencer, and Samuel L. Jackson all have in common? the capacity to accomplish their objectives and make them happen despite the challenges they had encountered. They all became what they had chosen for themselves, An artist, actor, actress/author.
