Her doctor at the time placed her on Fosamax until Katrina heard the news about people dying from this medication in the news. So, she told her doctor she wants a better alternative! Her doctor kept pushing Fosamax. Katrina knew right then and there, the doctor wasn't about her health, they were in for the money. So, Katrina changed doctors and on to a different doctor. This doctor here disagreed with taking Fosamax. And wrote a prescription for oral contraceptives and who would have thought "OCPs" could help bones? Katrina took the OCP for a while, and on top of that
came weight-bearing exercises. Katrina had yet another issue with taking the OCP, and asked for an alternative? the doctor then wrote out another prescription for over-the-counter vitamin D. She not only had to deal with taking pills to help build stronger bones. She had to go through getting a Dexa Scan once or twice a year.
Fastward to 2021, The battle for stronger bones is still an ongoing thing, Katrina now is experiencing knee pain in both of her knees. And it's more pain in the left knee than the right knee. The right knee is compensating for the left knee. So, there are good days of walking and then there are bad days of walking. Like, if she walks a lot one day, she will be in a lot of pain the next day. So, to avoid painful days, Katrina sits down. And sticks to modification exercises. But, Katrina knows sitting all day is not healthy for her. So, she brought it up to her doctor and, The doctor ordered an x-ray to be done and to be on the safe side and MRI. Plus, physical Therapy.
